From The Miron BlogQuestions to Ask Before Signing a Lease: Do You Like Living Here?
By Miron Properties |

A series in which we arm you with the right questions to ask before signing a lease. The Question: Do you like living here? What’s your favorite thing about the building? Is there anything you haven’t liked about your experience here? Who To Ask: A current tenant The person least likely to have an agenda is your potential neighbor, so if you can find someone in building hallways, exiting/entering the property or by knocking on a couple doors, don’t be shy. Ask them how long they’ve been in the building, how their experience with the management company has been and a little bit about the good and the bad. Keep in mind that every building will have at least a couple of areas that could be improved, but should also have identifiable good characteristics to outweigh the bad. If you’re lucky enough to find a tenant who seems like they might have similar standards to you, all the better. (This is a nice way of saying avoid crotchety people who will do nothing but whine and sloppy dudes still in their sweatpants at 2pm. Unless that’s appealing to you.)
