Gramercy ParkQuick Link:
Gramercy ParkThe Gramercy neighborhood is home to one of the most beautiful green spaces in the city, a private park lined with co-ops and townhouses for sale and rent with views of it. The area was designed by a 19th century real estate developer who envisioned a secret garden-esque enclave surrounded by apartments and row houses. Many of the renovated townhouses along Gramercy Park, with their mahogany and marble details, are reminiscent of mansions in a bygone era of New York City history. Even new construction, such as the Gramercy by Starck condo, is imbued with some 19th century character; the building has a doorman and luxury outdoor deck, but also a library lounge with a fireplace. For a drink in Gramercy style, head to the landmark Pete’s Tavern, one of the city's oldest bars. A couple of blocks away you can visit the birthplace of President Theodore Roosevelt, a reconstruction of the 19th century brownstone where Teddy was born, complete with a restored parlor, period bedroom, and Victorian-era equipment.
