New Map Helps You Avoid Photog Tourists

By Miron Properties | Published on June 8,2010 at 9:28PM

Tourists are shown in red, locals in blue, and yellow is unknown.

Forget separate walking lanes for tourists and New Yorkers. A new map engineered by neo-cartographer Eric Fischer can help you avoid those sightseer hot spots altogether, Gothamist reports.

The most touristy locations in the city have been confirmed as Midtown, the Brooklyn Bridge, the baseball stadiums, and the Statue of Liberty.

And to further cement the coolness of his Tourist v. Local map, Fischer not only identified which areas of the city are most congested with camera-happy out-of-towners, but also who is photographing what. After all, New Yorkers enjoy taking pictures too-- only we can walk and snap at the same time.
