Flat Rock Brook Nature Center Receives $4,000 to Aid Educational Programs
Funding for the Nature Association's educational programs at Englewood's famed Flat Rock Brook Nature Center was granted a $4,000 boost from the Community Chest in order to maintain and improve programming. Englewood's Flat Rock Brook Nature Center continues to host thousands of visitors each year and aims to spread an appreciation for nature by teaching its visitors about local ecosystems.
The eminent Flat Rock Brook Nature Center plays an important role by participating in an outreach to Englewood Public School District, by providing a wide range of educational programs both on site and in the Englewood District's elementary and middle schools as an after-school program. Additionally, the Flat Rock Brook Nature Center collaborates with the Englewood Public School District by opening its doors for field trips and serving as host for a popular summer camp. Attending this summer program, campers are exposed to an enriching curriculum of outdoor experiences, having the opportunity to explore the Flat Rock Brook Nature Center's various trails and vast forest land.
Executive director of Englewood's Flat Rock Brook Nature Center, Stephen Wiessner, believes "Flat Rock Brook thrives because of the generous support of the community."
