Looking to spread some holiday cheer to those in need? Not sure where to start? We're here to help!
Bergen County, in support of the Center for Food Action’s (CFA) Holiday Food Drive, is asking for donations to help restock the Center’s county-wide food pantry. The CFA is in desperate need of resources due to their storm relief efforts, and needs help providing goods for the less-fortunate this holiday season. Donations can be made any time between now and Wednesday, December 18th.
What can I donate, you ask? The CFA is looking for items such as: canned meats (tuna, chicken, etc), canned hearty soup, canned vegetables, macaroni & cheese, peanut butter & jelly, pasta & tomato sauce, cold cereal (low sugar), oatmeal, boxed milk (such as Parmalat or powdered milk), canned fruit, instant potatoes, and 100% juice. Household and baby items are needed as well, such as: baby formula & diapers (sizes 4, 5 & 6), bar soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and dental floss.
Okay, I've collected my items ...Now what? Items can be left at the CFA kiosk.
Great! Where can I find the CFA kiosk? The CFA kiosk is located in the 1st floor public lobby (by the County Clerk’s Office) in the Bergen County Administration Building at One Bergen County Plaza, Hackensack, NJ.
Will CFA accept any other types of donations? Supermarket gift cards are also welcomed donations. Gift cards from any supermarket can be donated at the County Executive’s Office (5th Floor – Room 580).
Please note: all donations must be in cans or boxes. Items in glass containers cannot be used and will not be accepted. Also, please be mindful of expiration dates, as anything past the date cannot be accepted either.
