High Line Park, Chelsea

Chelsea

The newest real estate developments in Chelsea, as well as some of the hottest condos for sale—are located farther west towards the Hudson River, where the south section of the High Line, an elevated park created on an abandoned railroad track, opened to the public on June 2009. The park has brought a rejuvenated vibrancy to the area, better known for its modern art galleries, fine restaurants, and gay and lesbian nightlife.

While much of the area is full of 19th century townhouses, there are parts of Chelsea where old industrial spaces have been transformed into floor-through loft apartments boasting high ceilings and ample windows.

An ideal neighborhood for those with active lifestyles, the Chelsea resident can opt for indoor exercise at Chelsea Piers sports complex or outdoors along the West Side bike path.
